While pursuing his Industrial Engineering degree, he began learning computer programming on his own, starting with BASIC, and later learned FORTRAN and COBOL as part of the curriculum. He subsequently learned C on his own and developed a gear-designing program as his final-year project. His work has since spanned programming, DevaNagari typography, optical technology, and product design, reflecting a continuing interest in applying technology to practical problems.

The following are his milestones:

1987	Started learning computer fundamentals and BASIC.
1988	Began learning C programming.
1989	Wrote a gear-designing program in C.
1990	Graduated in Industrial Engineering.
1991	Started providing DTP services and developing software for Nagari [SurNeer].
1991	Developed 'Sugam' (ISCII <-> Proprietary-Code Converter) in C.
1992	Developed a rudimentary bitmap PCL font editor in C.
1993	Started developing a small ĐevaNāgarī editor 'Lekhəni' (Lekhni), and began learning Win GUI API.
1995	Designed A_Akhil.ttf, a ĐevaNāgarī–Latin font, possibly the first of its kind, for use with Lekhni.
1996	Finalised version 1.1 of 'Lekhni'.
1997	Designed two more ĐevaNāgarī-Latin fonts.
1997	Discontinued providing DTP services.
1998	Continued with software development [Aditi Information System, Gondia].
1998	Finalised version 1.2 of 'Lekhni'.
2000	Learned Java.
2000	Provided computer education to about 200 students during last 3 years.
2001	Finalised version 2.0 of Lekhni. Uploaded some webpages to Yahoo! GeoCities.
2002	Wrote notes on Saral Nāgarī etc.
2003	Began developing a Unicode-based OpenType font.

2005	Developed Sugam 98 - for entering Unicode ĐevaNāgarī text in Windows 98!
2005	Launched softfonts.com (microsite) for selling our Smart font/s (type software).
2006	Established an Optical store.
2006	Finalised SuNāgarī - a keyboard layout for Indic Scripts.
2008	Developed _naagaree-128 - a transliteration scheme for converting ĐevaNāgarī text to Latin text.
2011	Launched hindi.co (a micro site)
2012	Developed Nīrajā-Latin - another transliteration scheme for converting ĐevaNāgarī text to Latin text.
2014	Released newer versions of Sugam 2K, SuNāgarī.
2017	Started working on "Positionable Wheels For Moving Objects Over Stairs".
2019	Put developments on hold. Learning and doing something necessary!
2020	Resumed work on "Positionable Wheels For Moving Objects Over Stairs".
2022	Filed a provisional patent application on "Positionable Wheels For Moving Objects Over Stairs".
2023	Filed a PCT application based on the above provisional application, which was processed through WIPO.
2024	Working on chashmewala.com .
2025	Continued working on chashmewala.com and following patent applications in various countries.
2026	Granted Patent in the United Kingdom

His fonts and software avoid odd or infrequently used conjuncts. He devoted a significant amount of time to developing his preferences for Nāgarī. Read about 'Saral Nāgarī'!

He continued developing Lekhni as an intelligent interface for entering bilingual text in Nāgarī languages and English for several years. Lekhni did not allow structurally invalid key sequences to be entered in the Nāgarī script—a level of structural input control that he has not encountered in any later editor. However, from 2002, he began moving toward a Unicode-based solution.
